Our Team
Claire Henning, Founder
Claire is not your average Pilates Instructor. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California Davis in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior. After graduating, while working in Physical Therapy clinics, Claire recognized a need for the unique blend of Physical Therapy, movement therapy and fascial therapy. She has been teaching integrative, therapeutic movement since 2006.
Claire began her Pilates journey in Davis, CA where she observed an Occupational Therapist using Pilates Apparatus for rehabilitation. She began to practice Pilates for her own physical and mental health and fell in love! She was certified to teach while she was managing a Physical Therapy Clinic and her future husband was attending Physical Therapy School. Feeling it in her own practice, and seeing how Pilates helps to stabilize and heal a body, Claire decided a therapeutic blend of Pilates and Rehabilitation was her purpose.
Claire’s real passion is helping the limited body reach its full potential. Her love for healing and her background in Physical Therapy causes her to be very detail oriented and place great emphasis on proper form. She excels at teaching bodies with current or prior injuries, muscle imbalances, limitations and/or post-op clients of all fitness levels by creating a bridge between Pilates, Fascial Therapy and Physical Therapy. Currently, she is working with her husband to develop individualized treatment plans through an evaluation process that would allow for clarified tracking of progress within clients’ bodies.
When she is not teaching, Claire loves to cook, play games and spend time with her husband and son outdoors.
